Sherman, set the way-back machine for 1982. Reagan was president, AT&T broke apart, and 4,150 Moonies married in Madison Square Garden. You didn't care, because you were watching:
shoot -- I'm late for this one -- well, I knew Cagney & Lacy and Bosom Buddies and I think that is Ben Kingsley (?) and I thought Hill Street Blues, too. no clue on the emblem. It's so late, I can't see now anyway! Mom
He he he, I was up late waiting for this one. I'm stumped on the emblem, and the blond guy banging on the keyboard.....he looks so dang familiar. At first I thought Rocky Horror, then I thought Little Shop of Horrors. But it's not either of those.
Ok, I got number 7, but I want to give someone else a chance to guess it, so here are the initials.... F.O.S. It's a music video. (I had help on this one from a colleague).
Chernobyl is an interesting guess but that disaster was in 1986. Come to think of it, Three Mile Island would also be an interesting guess but that was in 1979.
I actually have work to do, but this stupid emblem is driving me nuts! I've researched: Falkand Islands, Nine Inch Nails, the dashboard to Knight Rider's car, Logan's Run, The Wall (Pink Floyd), Ice Pick, patches for all the STS flights that year, and even the patches to Soyuz (Russian space flight).
Jeez Louise, I never would have guessed that it was linked to a super hero! I was so far off course, it isn't even funny. I had my sister, colleagues, colleague's friends and everyone else in the forray.
I'll spare your clients the dime. Here's the affirmation on appeal. Any case that discusses the origin of Superman and cites to Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders v. Pussycat Cinema is worth a read.
1. Gandhi. 2. An Officer and a Gentleman. 3. Bosom Buddies. 4. The Greatest American Hero. 5. Hill Street Blues. 6. Cagney & Lacey. 7. A Flock of Seagulls "I Ran, I ran so far away!" 8. Blade Runner.
I have a good one lined up next. Check back tonight for a game of Which one doesn't belong?
Thanks to the Wayback Machine, we're currently working our way through "Hollywood history" from the Stone Age to the modern era--and beyond. I remembered to bring my camera, but I need your help identifying the people we meet and from what context they came (i.e., what show or movie they appeared in). Everyone is encouraged to participate.
