Thanks Pharoah for help with #17! We've now left Egypt and travelled to Thebes during the Iron Age. These are some friends of mine, but it looks like they weren't expecting us! They are....

What were your rules again? I'm pretty sure the movie was Hercules. That's one requirement.

The other is that we name them? Well, my best guess is that they were Hercules' adoptive parents. Their names I can't remember. I should know this! Arrrgh!

Is this enough info to get credit?

By the way, whats with the animated films lately? I mean, a picture of Lou Ferigno (Hulk) as Hercules would have been good. No? At least you mix up the studios! (Dreamworks yesterday and Disney today.)

Oh, and Disney is awful. Prince of Egypt was so much better than Hercules.

I probably won't post for a while - give others a chance too.

There are no rules! I only posted the guidelines on credit so that people would have an idea how I gave credit, and that it wasn't totally arbitrary and capricious. And you gave me what I wanted.

You're right that thre movie was Hercules, and that they were Hercules' adoptive parents! I wouldn't expect you to remember their names, Amphitryon and Alcmene, unless you were a student of classical Greece.

Two animated features back-to-back is a circumstance of the approximate dates the films were set. Using a picture of a Lou Ferrigno (or Kevin Sorbo) as Hercules seemed too obvious. These two only had a total of what, 10 minutes screen time? A little more of a challenge.

I wouldn't say Disney is awful, but I would agree it's formulaic. And for the record, I personally enjoyed Hercules (almost farcical) more than Price of Egypt (which I remember taking itself too seriously). I suppose as a person with a history degree, I should be appalled at the number of anachronisms in the show, but Hollywood has proven over and over that they are totally inept when it comes to accurate period pieces. At least Hercules was tongue-in-cheek about it (in the tradition of the TV series version of Hercules, and Xena, and Knight's Tale.

Give a big guy some brass wrist armour, a chest plate, long hair,a sword, call him Hercules, Conan or Thor and I pretty much buy it hook line and sinker. But put too many cloves in my Chicken Beriyani and I'll go OFF! (as I reluctantly eat it...)
