Brad Pitt in A River Runs Through It ?
Right! I always thought the title was lame. A river runs through what? What is "It?" A pronoun without an antecedent is like a . . . well, you're the linguist here, not me. :-P

Ah, I knew this one. :-( It is a lame title, but the movie was great.

As you probably know A River Runs Through It is a wonderful short story by Norman MacClean. It doesn't refer to religion or minister's sons, but to fly fishing, which is an integral part of this story. I think when you are raised on fly fishing, the river runs through your heart, or the dynamic of your family's love, or your life in general. In any case, it's certainly a memorable title.
