War's End



Finally, after four harrowing years and an entire generation lost, the Great War has finally concluded. French troops gather outside the palace at Versailles to await the signing of this historic peace, which some say will end war in Europe forever. Truly it is the dawn of a new era. (Not a film)

Finally, while everyone participated in this section, I think it's safe to say no one here knew WWI movies like Jim!

I usually rush to make a guess, but lately it seemed like no one else was playing.

I suspect that few of the active players watch Turner Classic Movies. That's frustrating, because there's so much good stuff out there -- and a lot of the films coming out now are formulaic crap and remakes (don't get me started on remakes!).

Ted Turner is a kind of monster - his organization controls what films the current generation gets to see. There really is so much that gets missed.
