Scottboro nine. Tried and found guilty of the rape of two white women while on a train. They were found guilty even after one of the women testified it never happened.

That's right! The trials went on for years and it was a huge scandal. I wonder if the "Scottsboro Boys" had anything to do with Harper Lee's storyline on To Kill a Mockingbird.
