This one shows Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane Parker and Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan in Tarzan the Ape Man.

Right, Jim! He was the Tarzan for the 1930s, and the movie had more sequels than the Friday the 13th series!

It's a little different, but you could say that Charlie Chaplin played his Charlie the Tramp character in 30-40 films, though many were shorts.

That's true... though since they're so short I'd almost prefer to compare those films to a TV series. There were a lot of Bond movies, but of course they have different actors...
