It's time now to say goodbye to the 1930s. It's been a raucous decade of jazz, gangsters, economic depression--and now another war in Europe. We've come out the other side leaner, stronger, and hopefully just a little wiser. The 1940s promises to be an interesting decade! See you on the other side.

Well done! Remade in 1957 as An Affair to Remember, and setting up a theme for Sleepless in Seattle (1993), which leads to You've Got Mail in 1998. And that is how you turn gold into lead, in only 41 years!
