HITLER INVADES POLAND. Germany struck fast and struck hard, sending five armies into the country without warning or demands. The major cities of Katowice, Krakow, Tczew and Tunel have been bombed. The governments of Great Britain and France are in emergency meetings. This is it, folks. Europe is going to war.

Not really looking for anything--since we're going chronologically I occasionally like to "signpost" significant events and the beginnings of new eras as a way of establishing context (each new year, Prohibition, WWI, etc). One way to tell is that those posts aren't numbered. But if you have a comment, you should feel free to post it! I wish each post generated a discussion about the film or event--sometimes it happens, but usually it doesn't.
