The Trivia Hound

602. At Sea, Apr. 1942

Jim got #601!

While the Allies are getting rolled over in the Pacific, things might be looking up in the Atlantic--provided these men can succeed in their objective.

It's U-571, but Amy's got it.

That's the one! The U stands for Unterseeboat (submarine), and hence the term "U-boat." U-481 is pretty close so Amy gets credit!

The UK was up in arms about this movie because it loosely depicts something they did before the US ever joined the war. Of course in the film it was Americans who were the heroes, not the British. Hollywood responded with a disclaimer blurb in the film giving credit to the UK. Unofficially, they politely suggested if the Brits didn't like it they should make their own film! :-P

That's funny. I've heard this is a good movie. Gotta put this one on my "to watch" list.
