Is it Angela's Ashes?

No; we visited Angela's Ashes back in 1937 as #497. Here's a hint: the same year this film came out, the actor who plays the girl's father also appeared in another film, playing a very famous character. That character makes his debut on the world this year. Coincidence? I think not! Well, ok, maybe...

I think I've got it. The little girl is Sophie Vavasseur playing the title character of Evelyn. Her father is Pierce Brosnan, who several times played a character who first appeared in 1953, Bond - James Bond.

Right! Ian Fleming's book Casino Royale comes out this year, introducing James Bond to the world. Pierce Brosnan played James Bond in Die Another Day in 2002, the same year that Evelyn came out.
