Jim got #774!

Are you for Ike's “Peace, Prosperity, and Progress” or Stevenson's “New America?” There's a debate between some high school kids tonight at this place.

And I bet those kids are Ritchie, Potsie and Ralph. That's Al's Diner from Happy Days.

I checked it out a little more. The drive-in in American Graffiti is Mel's, the one in Happy Days (pictured here) is Arnold's so Nora is generally correct.

As Jim pointed out, it was Arnold's, not Al's. But Nora's right, it's Happy Days I was thinking of. Specifically I was remembering the episode "The Not Making of a President" from Season 2 in 1975. The election proved quite divisive to the cast.

According to a web site, "Arnold's, a drive-in resembling the one in American Graffiti, features prominently in the credit sequence and the show itself (though its sign reads 'Arthur's' in the premiere)."
