You're very much on the right track, Jim! This is from a movie, but the actress is playing Edie Sedgwick! The guy is a fictional character (barely).

I think I might have it. The film is a biopic of Edie Sedgwick called Factory Girl. Sienna Miller plays Edie and Hayden Christopher plays a musician character that is supposed to be at least partially Bob Dylan.
