I always heard that the creater of Batman wanted him to be more dark, and didn't care for the campy Batman. But it certainly was a hit!

The TV Batman was so silly;we loved it when it first came out.

The director made it look so fake when Batman and Robin climbed a steep wall on the Batrope. It was was easy to see that they were on level ground and the camera was turned.

I liked the way they'd slide down the pole and emerge fully changed into their costumes.
