Jim got #942!

There are a number of things I find curious about this show, but I'll save my commentary until after someone IDs it.

Right, Jim! This was a great show, but there are a few things about it that bugged me:

1. Sometimes the recording self-destructs and sometimes it doesn't.

2. It's not credible that Dan has the right to turn down an assignment. "Your mission, should you decide to accept it..."

3. Martin Landau is billed as a guest star in the opening, even though he's in almost every episode and enjoys more face time than some of the regulars.

Yes ! We used to love to watch the short little tape fizzle and burn in the tape recorder. That's how I first learned about Government works - they could afford to waste a whole tape recorder every time.

I believe Martin Landau was married to Barbara Bain. I was surprised to see Landau in such a heroic role each week. I remembered him as the geek who stepped on Cary Grant's fingers as he hung by one hand from Mt. Rushmore in North by Northwest.
