This man is Will Lee, who played Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street.

Mr.Lee died in 1982, so the producers of Sesame Street had a decision - would they just have Mr. Hooper disappear without a word, or would they acknowledge his death to their young audience ?

Most appropriately, they had serious discussions on the show about the death of Mr. Hooper.

Another fact - Will Lee was blacklisted in the Communist scare of the Fifties in about the same manner as Zero Mostel.
